Welcome to PALF

The Pakistan-Australia Literary Forum (PALF) Incorporated was founded in July 2014 "to support and strengthen literary activities across the wider community and to encourage or to arrange translations of literary works from Urdu language into English and vice-versa as well as to promote the teaching and study of Urdu language and literature in Australia." As the Forum grows, we intend to support an increasingly wide range of activities, details of which will appear on this website. For more information on our current activities, please follow the links on this page, or take a look at our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/PakistanAustraliaLiteraryForum).
Joining the Forum confers a number of benefits; including the opportunity to present a paper at the annual conference, literary sessions and a newsletter with regular updates about relevant events and publications. .
We hope that in the future our programmes will include even more authors from abroad, and from the different cultures and regions across Australia. Although we are based in Adelaide, we intend to reach out both nationally and internationally. This is a real ‘Forum’ and as such, events are meeting places for members to discuss views and share the buzz of literature and culture. Further, the encouragement of reading and writing at all levels is a crucial part of our mission. Therefore, Urdu-lovers are urged to join PALF to promote Urdu language not only across Australia but offshore as well.
